6 most affordable social media management tools in 2026

Postora is run by the team behind Schedchie, one of the tools compared here.

At 10 accounts, Schedchie is the most affordable of these six: €7.99 a month for unlimited accounts and posts. Metricool is next at €16 a month billed annually for 5 brands (metricool.com/pricing, checked 2026-09-27).

"Affordable" depends on how many accounts you run. A tool that is free for one account can cost more than any other at fifty, and a flat price that looks high for one account is the lowest at ten. This page works out what six common tools cost at 1, 10 and 50 accounts, then ranks them.

How we ranked them

The ranking uses the monthly cost for one person running 10 accounts: two brands on five networks each (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube). The 50-account case is ten brands on the same five networks. Each tool gets the cheapest listed plan that holds the accounts, at the cheapest billing basis the vendor prints. Prices are in each vendor's own currency and are not converted.

Two things stand out. At one account, Buffer's and Metricool's free plans cost nothing, and Schedchie is not the cheapest. From 10 accounts up, the flat price is the lowest in the table and stays €7.99 at 50. Buffer is cheaper than Hootsuite at 10 accounts; at 50 the order depends on Buffer's unprinted discount, which is why the ranking uses 10.

Pros

  • One price at any account count: 10 accounts cost €7.99 × 12 = €95.88 a year, and so do 50.
  • One composer for all platforms, with per-platform text overrides; a client group per client or brand, each with its own calendar.
  • Calendar and list views, recurring posts, CSV bulk import with media and titles, background upload of large media batches, and full editing of scheduled posts.
  • Instagram Reels, carousels and Stories with music on Reels; TikTok video and photo posts; LinkedIn polls and documents; Pinterest board targeting; YouTube title, thumbnail and privacy.
  • A failed post sends an email with one-click retry, and each post shows its result per account.

Cons

  • Analytics are basic: engagement for Facebook and Instagram, plus LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Bluesky and TikTok. No X analytics, and no deep Instagram or Facebook reach or audience data.
  • No AI writing tools, no best-time suggestions, no first comment, no mobile apps, no public API.
  • X costs extra, and there is no free plan.

2. Metricool: cheap per brand, strong on analytics

Metricool bills per brand: one brand holds one business's profiles across networks. Its site lists Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, X, Twitch, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Facebook, Pinterest and LinkedIn.

Which tool fits which budget

Freelancers with several clients

Five clients with three accounts each is 15 accounts. Schedchie: €7.99 a month. Metricool Starter: €16 a month billed annually, 5 brands. Later: Growth plus 3 extra sets, $37.50 + 3 × $11.25 = $71.25 a month billed yearly. Buffer: under 15 × $5 = $75 a month billed yearly. Hootsuite: Professional at $199, since Standard stops at 10 (metricool.com/pricing, later.com/pricing, buffer.com/pricing, hootsuite.com/plans, checked 2026-09-27).

Schedchie is the pick here on cost, and taking on a sixth client does not change it. Pick Metricool instead if you send clients analytics reports.

Small businesses

One brand on three to five networks is where the per-channel and free plans do well. On three channels, Buffer's free plan may be enough if 10 queued posts per channel covers your week. On five channels, Buffer Essentials is 5 × $5 = $25 a month billed yearly and Metricool Starter €16 a month billed annually (buffer.com/pricing, metricool.com/pricing, checked 2026-09-27). Schedchie is €7.99 at any count. If you want AI help writing captions, Buffer, Later, Metricool, Hootsuite and Sprout Social include AI tools; Schedchie does not.

Agencies

At 50 accounts Schedchie stays €7.99 a month, against $82.50 + 4 × $11.25 = $127.50 for Later and $199 per user for Hootsuite Professional (later.com/pricing, hootsuite.com/plans, checked 2026-09-27). For client sign-off, Schedchie's Team plan at €24.99 a month adds 3 invited members, per-member approvals and client review links, where a client approves or requests changes without an account. Review links are advisory and do not block publishing; member approvals do. An agency that sells analytics reports will still want Metricool's Advanced plan or a larger suite.

Large companies and regulated teams

Sprout Social or Hootsuite. Both put an inbox, monitoring and reporting in one place, and Hootsuite's Advanced plan and Sprout's upper plans add team workflows. Schedchie is built for publishing and has no listening or deep reporting, so it is the wrong pick for this job.

Instagram-first and e-commerce brands

Later, for the visual planner, grid preview and link-in-bio page. If the brand also posts to TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest in volume, Schedchie covers Reels, carousels and Stories on Instagram plus those networks at a flat price.

Buffer's free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel. Metricool's free plan covers one brand and 20 posts a month, without LinkedIn or X. Schedchie has no free plan; it has a 14-day trial.

Does Schedchie include X (Twitter)?

Not in the base price. X posting is a separate add-on: €4.99 for 30 posts, valid for 30 days, on any plan. There are no X analytics.

No. Schedchie has no built-in AI writing tools. If you draft with an assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude, that assistant can connect to your Schedchie account through Schedchie's MCP server.

The short version

For one to three accounts, start free on Buffer or Metricool. Past Buffer's free plan, each channel adds $5 a month, billed yearly (buffer.com/pricing, checked 2026-09-27). Metricool is the low-cost pick when reports matter. Later suits Instagram-first brands that accept post caps. Hootsuite and Sprout Social cost the most per person and suit teams that need an inbox, monitoring and reporting.

Schedchie stays €7.99 a month at any account count, which makes it the lowest price for unlimited accounts and posts among these six. It gives up AI writing tools, deep analytics and an X allowance to get there. Every tool here has a free plan or a trial of 14 days or more; run a week of real posts through two of them before paying.
